Falls River Hydro Dam
Built in 1930 by the
Northern BC Power Company,
a subsidiary of Power Corporation of Canada,
a public company still in business (2013), which was incorporated in
1925.
Announcement of building the dam was made ca mid Feb 1930.
Bought in 1964 by BC Hydro
Official Ceremony took place Nov 5, 1964 in Prince Rupert
Located at confluence of Big
Falls Creek and the Ecstall River
south of the Skeena River, between Prince Rupert and Terrace BC.
9.6 MW generated via the 2
penstocks and old powerhouse.
