    message = great website, I am trying to find out about my father and his siblings and parents who lived in Roche Percee in the 1930s before they moved back to England. I am trying  to find out if anybody remembers them there. the names Brooks Walton (my grandfather) Clarice Walton (my grandmother) Leonard Walton (my father) Norman Walton (my uncle) and Marjorie Walton (my aunt) the only family member alive from those days in Canada. I would just like to know more about there time there if i can as my knowledge of there time in Roche Percee is very little. hoping you can help or maybe some other visitors to your site can help.

I received an email from Trudy Klassen (nee Langen)
who is the Great Grand Daughter of Mrs Knight.
Her Grandmother Flora was a midwife in the area also.
Flora and Leander owned the hotel in Roche Percee until it burnt down.
Trudy also wrote, that the NWMP originally camped on her parent's land

Moved to Regina for three years then down to Las Vegas. I have been back several times and was disappointed to see the pierced rock destroyed. The rocks were our perpetual playground as children. Wish I had taken some pictures when it was in its original condition. This was probably one of the greatest places to grow up. A you know we have a Perce Rock in the Bay Chaleur between New Brunswick and Quebec, along the Gaspe coast. What surprises me is that they would both have the same name, and are somewhat complementary, in that they both hava a hole in them. Perce Rock is now a bird santuary along with Ile Bonaventure, just along side of it in the bay at Perce Quebec.
