On April 17, 2008 I received a nice email from George
Hyde's only grandson.
Tom Sommerville. His mother was Beryl J. Hyde.
Beryl met and married George A. Sommerville
who immigrated from Scotland, in San Francisco, USA.
Tom informed me Cyril Hyde never married,
so this line of Hyde's ended with him in Feb 1989.
Madeline married, but had no children.
He thinks Beryl, Cyril, and Madeline
moved to the States in the 1920's.
Catharine died while they were still in Canada.
Thanks for the note and update Tom!
I already incorporated his info into the history page
Steve's wife below would be related to Tom.

Came across your website while searching for George Edward Audley Hyde as
part of my family history research. Audley (as I believe he was known to his
relatives) was the brother of my wife's great grandmother! I have traced a
lot of the Hyde family but could find no record of Audley following his
marriage in the 1890's. Thanks to you I now know he left England for
Canada. Regards Steve Place of Residence = Sheffield, England

Norman McLeod family
Comments: Hello, I am so happy to have found your website! Norman
McLeod was the brother of my grandfather, Roderick MacLeod, and I have been
looking for information about him. All of your info about Hyde is
fascinating to me, and I thank you for it. I am hoping that possibly one (or
more!) of Norman's descendants might see this message and contact me.
There is a brief narrative about Norman and Roderick's birth family in Bruce
Co., Ontario: "from "Kith and Kin of Kinloss", A history of the
settlement of Kinloss Township. Compiled and published by the Kinloss
Township Historians. from Vol. II, p.302: Thank you so much for the help
your website has given me in my research. Ann
