These are Strip Mine Plans from 1966-1970 era
Coal owned by CanPac Minerals Ltd.
which was controlled by Canadian Pacific Investments Ltd.,
which of course is controlled by Canadian Pacific Ltd. of Montreal.
1972 Cominco Ltd. bought 40% of CanPac Minerals Ltd.
Cominco then managed CanPac and were responsible for
the development and operation of the mining interests of CPI.
CPI retained 60% ownership.

Jan 1978
they were constructing a Bucyrus-Erie 70 yd dragline at the M&S mine.
It developed a 6ft hairline crack in the front girder of the deck.
Metallurgists were to examine the break.
I believe this was the Bienfait Badger Bucyrus-Erie 1570W
