Original Backman Home, north side of tracks
   

This was the Roy and Dolly (nee Gesell) Backman Farm
Roy lived in Estevan and drove the 18 miles each day
to farm his land near Hirsch.
He devoted lots of his time, and money,
to preserving the family homestead,
including the barn you see above.
It is a great specimen of a Prairie "Red Barn"
and should stand for many years to come
for the new owners.
 

This was originally the Nels and Emilie (nee Gesell) Home
now a private home of another family
