HEAVY ROUTE
MICROWAVE SYSTEM
CHAPTER #6

McLEAN MOUNTAIN
RADIO SITE
Located at Lat 54-12-56 and Long 129-38-26

This site, built between Prince Rupert and Terrace,
was built to withstand high winds.
 Roland (Rolly) Anderson was caretaker
at this site in the mid 60’s.
Chuck and Jean Lequereux stayed at McLean in the 80’s.
At present it is unmanned, and visited for routines only.
It is visible as you drive from Pr. Rupert to Terrace
 on a clear day!
In the days when fuelling was done by small drums,
45 gallon drums full of Diesel,
were known to blow off this hill!
No Road access, only helicopter.
There was an unmarked walking trail down the hill,
for those so inclined.
This site, is between Copper Mountain
and Mt Hays, as far as the microwave system
is concerned.
