**My Dad tells the story that in the fall of 1919, a farmer was shooting ducks
that were in a slough north of the School and the shot ricocheted off the water,
came through the window and stopped in the blackboard.  It just missed the teacher.
He goes on to say they thought so much of our teacher that we fought to meet her,
to put her horse in the barn, and hook it up at night.
